Tameside Sports AwardsThe 2017 Pride of Tameside Sports Awards took place at Dukinfield Town Hall. Olympic medallist swimmer Steve Parry was in attendance and Tameside Radio’s Louise Coombs hosted the awards.

Nominations for the 2018 Pride of Tameside Sports Awards will open on 1st March.

There are hundreds of Tameside sportspeople who have given their time and commitment to sport. The Pride of Tameside Sports Awards is a celebration to recognise and celebrate the success of these stars across Tameside.

Tameside Sports Awards feature 8 different nomination categories;

  • Coach of the Year
  • Sports Achiever of the Year
  • Disabled Sports Achiever of the Year
  • Alex Williams Volunteer of the Year
  • Unsung Hero of the Year
  • Club of the Year
  • Changing Lifestyle Special Recognition Award
  • The School Commitment to PE and Sport Award

Over the years we have had a variety of sporting nominations from fencing and 10-pin bowling to triathlon and football. All winners from each category at the Tameside Sports Awards will have the opportunity to represent Tameside at the Greater Manchester Sports Awards.
