Active Tameside has received a Quest award for being the 3rd highest performing Active Communities team of 2017. Linda De-Giorgio, People Management Business Partner at Active Tameside, collected the award, along with Lisa Roberts, Quality Assurance Manager at Active Tameside, at the joint Quest NBS and CIMSPA conference, which was held at the Chesford Grange hotel in Warwick, from 20th to 21st February.
This was the 8th Quest NBS conference, but was the first joint conference for Quest for Facilities and Quest Active Communities. The aim of the conference was to present a unique perspective on physical activity, including operational challenges and solutions.
Andrew Dwyer, Head of Education and Sport for Active Tameside, said: “Active Tameside are delighted to achieve the award for third highest performing Active Communities sports development team in the country. This has been achieved by great teamwork, along with progressive development of all services and frontline delivery staff which has all been developed going through the Quest Active Communities accreditation. Quest has contributed to whole team development allowing all staff to plan and deliver high quality services within the Tameside community.”
The award comes soon after Active Tameside’s ‘Live Well’ service achieved an ‘Excellent’ rating from Quest, which is the highest possible rating. Receiving both the award and the Excellent rating has helped to show Active Tameside’s success in increasing participation and reducing inactivity – moving people in Tameside from being inactive to active.
