Wow, that’s come round quickly, only 3 weeks to go until the Tour of Tameside (TOT) 2022! I will be tackling the full Tour this year which consists of 4 gruelling races in 4 days, running a total of 32 miles. Due to injury and a global pandemic, the last time I completed the full TOT was in 2018, so I’m itching to get on the start line this year and hopefully be injury free!
Training has been going really well. I have managed an average of 50-60 miles of running per week, which has consisted of 2 interval sessions at my local running club, East Cheshire Harriers, one long run and the rest have been easy running days.
I have recently run personal best times over 5k, 10k and half marathon distances, so I’m really enjoying my running at the moment and I am in good form. I’m just hoping for 2 more weeks of consistent training until I ease down one week out from the big day – looking forward to seeing many of you out there enjoying the first stage of the Tour in 3 weeks’ time!
And remember… ‘Don’t fear moving slowly forward, fear standing still!’
