Head of Inclusion and Diversity
Shaun has worked in Tameside for over 12 years within Sports Development, firstly starting as a Sports Coach, delivering the PE national curriculum in local primary schools then moving on to be a Disability Sports Development Coach, working with all Tameside special schools to deliver curriculum disability PE and develop community provision. Through the success of various programmes and interventions, this led to Shaun managing the Tameside community programme.
Within his current portfolio of work, Shaun has responsibilities for the following strands:
Inclusion and Diversity
‘Everybody Can’ – services for all, removing barriers to ensure everyone is given a chance to reach their potential. There are a range of services, looking at health and wellbeing, social development and an holistic person-centred approach for young people and adults.
Special schools disability programme – delivery of high quality PE.
Special Education interventions – delivering a person-centered approach, looking at an holistic overview to enable the individual to reach their potential.
Learning and Employment – Supported Internship, Care to Success and Employability programmes.
Community interventions – looking at working with community partners to deliver projects that develop community cohesion.
Concessions – ensuring that we provided services and facilities that are accessible for all.
