An award-winning inclusion and disability service, providing everybody, no matter their need or ability, the opportunity to develop, thrive and achieve.
We look to develop all holistically, ensuring barriers are removed for everybody to belong, enjoy, engage and grow in their community, helping them to live their best lives.
We encourage aspiration and hope through learning and moving with confidence from childhood to adulthood. Everybody Can has established an intrinsic, golden thread that supports people with additional needs and/or a disability from the age of 3 throughout the life course. Our services encompass all walks of life including social care, community interaction, education and employment.
Our strategy aligns with, supports and meet the needs of Tameside’s corporate strategic plan; starting well, living well, working well and aging well.
We have successfully supported PE and school sport in the majority of Tameside schools for over 20 years. Our Coaching in Schools programme engages over 11,000 young people each week within the school setting.
We have a combined resource of over 100 professional sports coaches, Bikeability instructors and swimming teachers to deliver a range of services to support schools. Our key areas are:
PE – Coaching in Schools programme
Bikeability – Cycle road safety programme
School swimming – Curriculum
Cook4Life – Family healthy eating programme
Active Body Active Mind – mental wellbeing programme
Little Bikers – Early years pre-pedal programme
Fuel 4 Fun – funded school holiday camps
Fuel 4 Fun Plus – Children’s Health & Wellbeing Improvement programme
This service aims to improve your health and wellbeing, by helping you to become more active within your day to day life. We work individually with you to help manage your health condition/s through a tailored physical activity programme, with ongoing support.
You are eligible for support if you have any long term health condition/s and you are currently inactive. You can discuss the service with your GP or healthcare professional and request for them to send a referral over to us. Alternatively, you can call us at the office: 0161 366 4860 to advise us of your health conditions.
Research has shown that physical activity can have a positive effect on a wide range of long term health conditions. Increasing your physical activity, even by just a small amount initially, can help to reduce blood pressure, improve weight loss and improve heart and lung health, along with many other benefits.
As well as operating leisure centres, we also run various services and initiatives in the community.
Our community social enterprises include two Community Cafes, located in Dukinfield (one at Beatrix House, the other at The Together Centre); a Community Cycle Circuit, in Ashton-under-Lyne; and two Community Allotments at Ash Road, St Georges.
They are designed to provide real life work experience, volunteering and paid employment opportunities for young people with a disability and/or additional needs. All income generated is used to buy products, maintain equipment and to pay the young people and adults we employ.
We created the Sport & Physical Activity Network to support Tameside sports clubs and physical activity groups to increase participation and develop their workforce, ensuring sustainability for future generations.
If you are looking for a new activity to participate in, the Network provides information on sports clubs and physical activity groups within Tameside.
If you are a sports club or physical activity group, the Network provides information on what help it can offer, along with funding and workforce information.
