Active Medlock is part of Adventure Medlock, our popular indoor climbing attraction, making it the go-to centre for fitness and fun in Droylsden. You’ll find a 67-piece fitness suite, exercise studio, swimming pool, 4 x 3G 6-a-side Astro Turf pitches, Fuel café and crèche, as well as a soft play and climbing arena, all under one roof.

Customer Notice

During the course of the pandemic, Active Medlock has hosted adult social care services for the most vulnerable people within the community.

The vulnerability of the clients, in combination with social distancing requirements, has meant that Active Medlock has operated as a hybrid centre, i.e. not open to the general public when adult social care services are being provided.

It is the case therefore that only when social distancing requirements in social care settings are fully lifted, will consideration be given to the potential for a return to pre-pandemic opening hours at Active Medlock.

The lockdown road map indicates that Stage Four, which incorporates the lifting of all legal limits on social contact, will not occur until June 21st at the earliest and at this point operations at Active Medlock will be fully reviewed.

We completely understand the frustrations of our loyal customers and share the aspiration for a return to ‘normality’.

In the meantime, we ask you once again for your forbearance.

We run an extensive group exercise timetable, taught by our friendly and experienced fitness instructors, which features Les Mills classes, Yoga, Zumba, Cycle Workout, Aqua Fit and much more.

Our Active Premier membership package gives you access to our gym, pool and classes to keep you motivated, plus access to all of our other Active centres. Alternatively, you can choose a different package to suit you. Find out more about our membership here.
