We’ll need proof of identity (driver’s licence or passport) and proof of your banking details (bank statement or electronic pay slip). If you’re a corporate member, please bring some corporate I.D. as well.
Wear light, comfortable clothing that’s breathable and allows you to move freely. Please ensure that your choice of clothing doesn’t make other members feel uncomfortable. Members cannot work out topless and closed-toe shoes (cross trainers or running shoes) must be worn in the gym at all times.
There is a one-off joining fee, which varies per club. Your Membership Team will let you know what this is. Other than that, the only other costs are for additional services, such as personal training.
Of course! We offer as much or as little support as our members need. All new joiners are entitled to a free Gym Induction session, which you can book online here.
Yes. Please fill in a Carers Pass Application Form and bring it to reception at one of our centres. You must also provide official proof that you are a carer for the member (i.e. a letter from the appropriate governing body) and photo ID (i.e. ID badge or driving licence).
Please note that your membership can only be used to assist the member that you are caring for and this will be monitored in centre.
Yes. This membership will allow you to use the gym, pool, spa and attend classes at all of our centres. To do this, you will just need to come into centre with a valid ID badge or wage slip. If you require any further information, please email: membership@activetameside.com.
Yes. Our Junior membership is for 13–15 year olds and it is a single centre membership.
Active Junior access days and times are: Mondays – Thursdays from 3pm – 6pm; Fridays from 3pm – 8pm and weekends from 10am-4pm. This includes gym access and any ‘General Swim’ sessions.
To sign up, you will need to do so with a parent or guardian at your chosen centre. You can book in for an induction (which is included in the price) and the parent/guardian can sign the relevant paperwork.
Yes. Our Teen Triple membership is for 16–17 year olds; it is a single centre membership.
Active Teen Triple access days and times are: Mondays – Fridays from 12pm – 8pm (excluding Active Medlock, which is 3pm – 8pm) and weekends from 10am – 4pm. This includes gym access, group exercise classes and any ‘General Swim’ sessions.
To sign up for this membership, you will just need to come into centre with valid ID.
Yes. Our student membership is for students aged 16+ years.
This is a single centre membership and it includes the gym, swimming, spa facilities and exercise classes at your chosen centre.
To sign up, you can visit your chosen centre and take a valid student ID badge with you.
Our off-peak membership is valid from 9am-4pm weekdays and 1pm until close at weekends. This membership is for:
Senior Citizens (60 years+) – proof of age at the time must be shown.
People on benefits – proof of receipt of benefits at the time must be shown.

Ducklings are for ages 0-5 years, Little Ducks are for 3-5 years and our mainstream Swim School lessons are for ages 4 years and above.

Girls should wear a one-piece swimsuit (not a bikini or tankini) and boys should wear swimming trunks.
Yes, we offer these in small groups (maximum 5 swimmers to 1 teacher); parents accompany swimmers in the water and the teachers are on the poolside. We follow the STA Rockhopper awards scheme.

Yes, our lessons run all year round on the same day and at the same time each week, apart from 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year, and on bank holidays.

For Swim, Slide and Waves, Soft Play Zone, Clip and Climb, High Ropes, Caving and Bouldering and Bowling: as stated in our Terms and Conditions, Active Tameside has a no refund policy and we are unable to make any changes to attractions bookings with less than 48 hours’ notice.
If your session start time is more than 48 hours away, please forward your original confirmation to: hello@activetameside.com and let us know the date/time you would like to re-book for. We will endeavour to re-arrange your booking, however this is subject to availability. Once your booking has been re-arranged, this will be confirmed via email.

Bikeability is a cycle road safety programme that gives participants the skills and confidence to cycle safely on today’s roads.
Bikeability is FREE for all Tameside primary schools and is delivered to year 5 and 6 pupils. However, we also deliver Bikeability family which is for both parents and their children and helps them take part in group rides confidently together.

Little Bikers is a programme delivered in schools to the Early Years and Key Stage 1 age groups, with the aim of giving them the skills to be able to cycle without the use of stabilisers.

You can freeze your membership between 1-6 months for a charge of £5.00 per frozen month. Please email: membership@activetameside.com with your freeze request, including your full name, membership number and date of birth. Please also advise the reason for freezing your membership and how many months you would like it to be frozen for.
As per our Terms and Conditions, we require 30 days’ notice in writing to cancel a membership, please email: membership@activetameside.com with your full name, membership number and date of birth.
