What is your child admission policy?

Hyde Leisure Pool has in place the following admission policy for a Swim, Slide & Waves session:

  • Children under 5 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 16 years or over at all times in the ratio of 1 to 1.
  • Any children between the age of 5 to 8 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 16 years or over at all times in the ratio 2 to 1.
  • Any non-swimmers or weak swimmers despite their age maybe required to stay in the shallow end of the pool. Every swimmers ability and admission into deep water is our leisure attendants and management discretion.
  • Please note there is a height restriction of 1.1 meters of anyone wishing to ride the ‘Red Ripster’ Aqua Slide.

For a General Swim and Wally Walrus session we operate the following admission policy:

  • Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 16 years or over at all times in the ratio of 2 to 1.

What’s the difference between ‘General Swim’ and ‘Swim, Slide & Waves’?

During a General Swim session the pool will be available to swimmers but will not include the waves, bubble beds, rapids, geysers or the slide; these features are only used during Swim, Slide & Waves sessions.

What is a Wally Walrus session and who is it for?

Wally Walrus sessions are aimed specifically for children (under the age of 8) and parents (or responsible adult aged 16+) to attend together. Through song and play the child will develop basic swimming skills and confidence in the water and get to enjoy a special visit from Wally Walrus himself.

When can I visit?

Please see our timetables.

Can I use the gym whilst I’m there?

Of course, however if you are aged between 13-15 years we would need your parents’ permission. If you are 16 years or older and not a member with us, we would need to take a few details before you use the gym. Please chat to us at reception for more information.

Can I use the spa when I visit?

Yes, as long as you’re aged 16 years or older you can use our spa, which includes a sauna and a steam room, just pay at reception when you visit.

How tall do you have to be to go on the ‘Red Ripster’ slide?

To use the Red Ripster slide you must be at least 1.1 metre tall.
