The Fuel4Fun programme offers free holiday club places to young people on benefit related school meals. On our camps, children can enjoy fun activities, take part in creative and physical challenges, alongside enjoying a free nutritious meal each day. The programme also offers paid places for children not on free school meals.
Fuel4Fun holiday camps run throughout the school holidays, with the aim of tackling food poverty and social inequalities among five to 13-year-olds in receipt of free school meals and the under 18 SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) population. We offer funded holiday camp places and we send the children home with food hampers packed with enough ingredients to make four nutritious family meals five nights a week.
Children between the age of 5-13 in receipt of benefit related free school meals, that live and attend Tameside schools.
Active Tameside Sites and Denton Community College camps will run from 9am – 3pm. External Providers will need to be contacted individually as they have separate running times.
All children will engage in a range of activities including Multi sports, arts and crafts, swimming and health and wellbeing sessions.
Children will engage in activities off site including nature walks, park visits and trips.
All children will receive a healthy lunch that meets the requirements of the children’s NHS nutrition’s team. Lunches will be ordered in advance.
