Bikeability instructor

Delivering cycle road safety training to year 5 and 6 children in primary schools. Also deliver little bikers’ sessions to Early Years and Key Stage 1 children to give them the skills to be able to ride a bike. Takes place in various Tameside Primary Schools.

Volunteer would assist the staff with planning, preparing, and delivering the sessions.

Bikeability is Monday to Thursday 9.30am-11.30am and 1-3pm. Little Bikers Monday AM, Wednesday AM and Fridays all day. Sessions take place only in term-time.

Bikeability course can be funded.

Sports coach

Takes place in various Tameside Primary Schools, volunteer would assist the staff with planning, preparing, and delivering the sessions. Sports coach is Monday to Friday (9am-4.30pm).

Training can be provided. Bi-monthly coaching CPD and weeklong in August.

PE coaches in school’s programme

Secondary School Work Experience – School year 7-11

Volunteers will be assisting qualified Active Tameside Sports Coaches who deliver high quality physical education curriculum, to pupils in Primary schools. Inspiring all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities. This programme provides opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness.

Volunteers will be expected to support the clients in a range of activities, prepare (set up and tidy up) activities, help create a positive environment.

There would be volunteer opportunities every day. We run in a range of schools in the Tameside and High Peak area. The service runs between 8:45am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday. We provide our own in-house training, which Volunteers could access.
